What are Folders?

Folders help you to organize and categorize your assets and make media assets more searchable and accessible. Folders accommodate subfolders and media files such as music, images, videos, and other digital media files.

Create New Folder

You can create single or multiple folders inside the repository. Following are the steps to create a folder and subfolder inside the repository.

Add Folder

  1. Navigate to the repository where you want to add a folder.
  2. Click on the +New drop-down button on the top right corner of the interface.
  3. Select the Folder option from the drop-down menu.
  4. It will open the Create New Folder dialog box. Enter folder name and click on Add button to add a folder to the repository.

Add Subfolder

  1. Navigate to the folder where you want to add the subfolder.
  2. Click on the +New drop-down button on the top right corner of the interface.
  3. Select the Folder option from the drop-down menu.
  4. It will open the Create New Folder dialog box. Enter the subfolder name and click on the Add button to add a sub-folder to the Folder.

Edit Folder Name

To edit folder names follow the steps below.

  1. Click and open the desired folder
  2. Move your cursor over the folder name, you will notice the pencil icon.
  3. Click on the pencil icon to edit the folder name.
  4. Start editing the folder name and press enter to apply changes.

Copy and Move Folders

Move Folders

You can move single or multiple folders to the desired folder in the repository.

  1. To move folders, open the repository which holds folders that you want to move.
  2. Select folder (Single or multiple) by clicking in the check circle located at the upper-left corner of the respective folders.
  3. Click on the Move to option on the Command Bar.
  4. Once you click the above option it will open a Move asset dialog box, here you can search the destination folder.
  5. Select the destination folder to move the single or multiple folders.
  6. Click Move Here to Move.

Copy Folders

You can copy single or multiple folders to the desired folder.

  1. To copy folders, open the repository which holds folders that you want to copy.
  2. Select folder (Single or multiple) by clicking in the check circle located at the upper-left corner of the respective folders.
  3. Click on the Copy to option on the Command Bar.
  4. Once you click the above option it will open a Copy asset dialog box, here you can search the destination folder.
  5. Select the destination folder to copy the single or multiple folders.
  6. Click Copy Here to Copy.

Note: You can copy or move folders within the same repository. Moving folders, subfolders, and assets from one repository to another repository is not allowed.

Delete Folder

You can delete single or multiple folders using the following steps.

  1. Open the repository where the folder is stored.
  2. Select single or multiple folders by clicking on the check circle at the upper-left corner of the respective folders.
  3. Click the delete icon located on the top right corner of the Command Bar.
  4. A warning message will appear “Are you sure you want to delete this asset?” Click OK to delete folder/s.

Note: All the deleted folders will be collected in the trash bin and can be restored if required.
