What is Media Asset?

Digital Media assets are files like videos, music, audio, photos, and other rich media files. If these digital files contain the rights to use them, they are considered an asset. These are important resources that are continuously growing and it a rigorous and tedious task to manage and organize such a huge amount of media files.

Tallery Gallery File Type Support

You can upload any type of media file to the Tallery Gallery such as videos, audio, photos, graphics, animations, other multimedia files, and all digital documents. Tallery Gallery supports all of them.

Copy or Move Media Assets

Making copies of assets or moving them from one folder to another within the repository is the major feature of media asset management. With Tallery Gallery you can easily copy or move your media assets from one folder to another.

Copy Assets

Follow the steps to copy single or multiple assets to folders.

  1. Open the folder from where you want to copy the asset.
  2. Select one or more asset files by clicking on the check circle at the top left corner of each file.
  3. Click on the Copy to assets to copy assets from the options displayed on the Command Bar. It will open the Copy Asset dialog box.
  4. Search and add the name of the desired folder and then click on a copy here. It will copy the file to that folder.

Move Assets

Follow the steps to move single or multiple assets to folders.

  1. Open the folder from where you want to move assets to another folder.
  2. Select one or more asset files by clicking on the check circle at the top left corner of each file.
  3. Click on the Move to option to move multiple files to the folder from the options displayed on the ribbon. It will open the Move Asset dialog box.
  4. Search and add the name of the desired folder and then click on Move here to move the file to the folder.

Note: You can copy or move assets from one folder to another within the same repository. Moving or making copies of assets to the folders or subfolders of another repository is not allowed.

Delete Media Assets

You can delete single or multiple media files at a time by following the steps below.

  1. Go to the folder from where you want to delete media files.
  2. Select single or multiple media files by clicking on the check circle at the top left corner of each file.
  3. Click on the trash bin icon located at the top right corner of the ribbon to delete assets.

Note: The deleted files will be collected in the Trash bin and can be restored if required.

Edit File Name

To edit file names follow the steps below.

  1. Click and open the desired file.
  2. Move your cursor over the file name, you will notice the pencil icon.
  3. Click on the pencil icon to edit the file name.
  4. Start editing the file name and click enter to apply changes.

Sharing Asset Link

You can create a simple link to share your media asset with remote members or third parties.

Follow the steps below to share your assets using the public link.

  1. Open the media asset you want to share.
  2. Click the share icon located at the top right corner of the media file.
  3. It will open the Share Asset dialog box with the public link.
  4. Copy the link and click on the Close button.
  5. Share the file with anyone using the same public link.

Version Control

The version control feature enables you to track your media resources and ensure that they are up to date. It maintains the version history of media resources whenever the new file is updated and uploaded again on the platform.

How to update new media asset version

If you have made changes in your media file and want to add the new version of the same on the media asset management platform then it can be easily done using version control.

Follow the steps below to add a new version of your media file

  1. Click open the media file for which you want to add a new version.
  2. Then click on the upload to cloud icon on the upper right corner of a media file. It will open file explorer on your system.
  3. Select and upload the updated version of a file to the cloud.
  4. The new version will get uploaded with the version number.

Asset Preview

You can preview media files with various backgrounds. Follow the steps below to preview the media file.

  1. Click open the desired file you want to preview.
  2. Click on the image to open the image in preview mode.
  3. Preview the image with different backgrounds (white, black, mosaic).
  4. Close the preview mode once done.
